Godzilla and Mothra's relationship varies across continuities: they have fought each other, most notably in Mothra vs. Godzilla, but have also repeatedly united against greater threats. In the MonsterVerse, their connection is explicitly described as an ancient symbiotic relationship between Titans; Mothra fights alongside Godzilla, sacrifices herself during the 2019 Boston battle, and her released energy contributes to the climactic thermonuclear state that follows.
