While navigating Skull Island's interior waterways, Monarch surveyors were set upon by a descending flock of Leafwings. The swarm targeted surveyor Victor Nieves, lifting him into the sky and dismembering him before infantry could neutralize the flock with small arms fire.

Possessing lightweight, pneumatic bones built strictly for aerial glide efficiency, individual Leafwings are easily shattered by small-arms fire or blunt kinetic blows.
