The Leafwing (scientific classification: *Icarus Folium*) is a carnivorous flocking avian-reptilian superspecies classified under Florafauna, widespread across Skull Island and the subterranean wilderness of Hollow Earth in the MonsterVerse. Closely related to the psychopathic Psychovulture genus, the Leafwing possesses translucent, chlorophyll-infused wing membranes with torn, serrated margins that flawlessly simulate fluttering autumnal canopy leaves. Averaging a 3.5-meter wingspan, Leafwings roost motionlessly in tree branches before launching coordinated swarm ambushes against surface targets. Utilizing needle-sharp beaks and piercing talons, flocks can hoist prey into the air and dismember them mid-flight. First encountered in 1973, Leafwings later established thriving populations throughout the Hollow Earth.
