Showa Minilla (ミニラ, Minira — known as Minya in American syndication) holds a singularly beloved role in Toho's golden age, symbolizing the profound thematic transformation of Godzilla from an apocalyptic nuclear terror into a compassionate, protective father figure. Debuting in director Jun Fukuda's heartwarming adventure *Son of Godzilla* (1967 — *Kaijūtō no Kessen: Gojira no Musuko*), Minilla hatched prematurely from a buried egg on secluded Solgell Island.
