Megaguirus (メガギラス, Megagirasu — also known as the Super Flying Dragon / Chōshōryū) is the ruthless titular antagonist of *Godzilla vs. Megaguirus* (2000). Spawned through a reckless military scientific endeavor when Japan's G-Graspers defense unit test-fired the Dimension Tide orbital miniature black hole weapon and ruptured spacetime, a prehistoric egg from the Carboniferous period drifted into modern-day Japan. Hatching into thousands of carnivorous nymphal **Meganulon** that flooded downtown Tokyo and metamorphosed into winged **Meganula**, the swarm swarmed Godzilla at Kigan Island to siphon his thermonuclear blood. Injecting this harvested nuclear energy into an underwater maternal cocoon beneath the flooded ruins of Odaiba, the swarm gave rise to Queen Megaguirus: an 80-meter supersonic insect empress boasting Mach 4 flight speeds, skyscraper-shattering high-frequency wing shockwaves, and a lethal barbed stinger capable of stealing and reflecting atomic plasma back at its master.
