Godzillasaurus (Heisei)
Godzillasaurus (Heisei)
Godzillasaurus (ゴジラザウルス, Gojirazaurusu) is an extraordinary, poignant, and foundational prehistoric entity in the mythology of Toho cinema, making his iconic debut in Kazuki Omori's time-travel epic *Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah* (1991). Representing an unmutated relict species of late Cretaceous carnivorous theropod that miraculously survived the K-T extinction event on isolated Pacific atolls, Godzillasaurus is the biological foundation, pure ancestor, and mortal predecessor of the King of the Monsters. Dwelling in the lush, secluded tropical rainforests of Lagos Island in the South Pacific, Godzillasaurus stood 12 meters tall and measured 24 meters in length with a mass of 60 metric tons. In February 1944, amidst the ferocious combat of the Pacific War, the dinosaur's fierce territorial defense inadvertently saved an Imperial Japanese Army garrison led by Major Yasuaki Shindo from imminent annihilation by American infantry. This fateful encounter established an emotional, tragic bond between human and prehistoric beast that resonates throughout the entire Heisei series.
