Giant Condor of the Showa era (大コンドル, Ōkondoru — Giant Condor / Giant Bird of Letchi Island) is an avian bird-of-prey kaiju featured in Toho's 1966 tropical adventure tokusatsu film *Ebirah, Horror of the Deep* (Japanese: *Gojira, Ebirā, Moshura: Nankai no Daikettō* / Godzilla, Ebirah, Mothra: Big Duel in the South Seas), directed by Jun Fukuda with special effects by Eiji Tsuburaya. Native to the sheer limestone sea cliffs of Letchi Island in the South Pacific, this predatory condor was mutated to titanic proportions through prolonged exposure to radioactive heavy water fallout discharged by the Red Bamboo terrorist syndicate's illicit nuclear manufacturing facility. Possessing a 25-meter wingspan, a height of 15 meters, and weighing 2,000 metric tons, the Giant Condor is an exceptionally aggressive aerial ambush predator. Following Godzilla's initial ocean skirmish with Ebirah, the winged terror dove without warning from the gathering storm clouds to attack the King of the Monsters, raking its sharp yellow talons across Godzilla's snout and eyes before Godzilla vaporized its plumage with a pinpoint blast of Atomic Breath, sending the flaming bird tumbling into the ocean. The duel was subsequently commemorated via stock footage in *All Monsters Attack* (1969).
