Garuda of the Heisei era (ガルーダ, Garūda) is a heavy supersonic armored tactical gunship designed and operated by G-Force, the military branch of the United Nations Godzilla Countermeasures Center (UNGCC). Conceived by eccentric engineer Kazuma Aoki as humanity's frontline airborne strike weapon against Godzilla, the project was sidelined when resources were redirected toward reverse-engineering Mecha-King Ghidorah's futuristic technology into the bipedal UX-02-93 Mechagodzilla. Measuring 85 meters in length and powered by high-output plasma thrusters capable of Mach 3, Garuda features twin dorsal High-Power Maser Cannons. When Mechagodzilla proved vulnerable in maneuverability during the Suzuka clash, Garuda was brilliantly adapted as an airborne docking platform, latching onto Mechagodzilla's back to forge the legendary Super Mechagodzilla.
