Nuclear Pulse
The Nuclear Pulse allows Godzilla to release stored nuclear energy radially from his body instead of focusing it through his mouth. It functions as a devastating area-of-effect attack and is particularly valuable when Godzilla is restrained, surrounded, or carrying more energy than his body would normally contain.

Mechanisms & Combat Analysis
Canon LoreEnergy-Release Mechanism
Unlike Atomic Breath, which focuses energy into a directed beam, the Nuclear Pulse releases accumulated nuclear power outward through Godzilla's body and dorsal structures. The resulting shockwave can strike targets around him simultaneously, making the technique especially effective against enemies attempting to grapple or restrain him.
Aftershock – Dorsal Energy Discharge
In Godzilla: Aftershock, MUTO Prime employs a specialized resonant sonic attack that shatters Godzilla's dorsal plates. As MUTO Prime prepares to implant him, Godzilla lifts the parasite onto his back and vents the accumulated atomic energy through the damaged dorsal region. The resulting blast launches MUTO Prime into the air, severely damages it, and leaves it vulnerable to Godzilla's fatal stomp. This is the MonsterVerse's first explicit demonstration of the Nuclear Pulse.
Burning Godzilla – Ultimate Thermonuclear Version
In Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019), Serizawa's nuclear detonation restores and heavily supercharges Godzilla, while Mothra's sacrificial energy subsequently enables him to enter his Burning state. His body radiates extraordinary heat before releasing massive spherical thermonuclear pulses. These waves destroy Ghidorah's wings and most of his body faster than his regeneration can compensate, effectively deciding the Battle of Boston.
2024 Supercharged Pulse
After feeding on a French nuclear facility in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Godzilla enters a blue Supercharged state and emits another Nuclear Pulse to destroy attacking drones. This demonstrates that the technique is not exclusive to Burning Godzilla; sufficiently energized versions of his normal physiology can perform it as well.
Limitations
Godzilla does not visibly employ this ability during the primary battles of the 2014 film or Godzilla vs. Kong (2021). Its comparatively rare use suggests that it requires substantial stored energy or unusually favorable physiological conditions and is therefore less routinely deployed than Atomic Breath.
